Production & action learning

The final phase of every programme puts trainees into a working production unit. What they make has a buyer, a tolerance and a deadline — which is what makes the learning stick.

Where it happens

Four live production environments.

Each one is a working unit first and a classroom second. That order is deliberate: a part that fails inspection teaches more than a demonstration that goes well.

  • Five-axis machining centre in the Mini Tool Room

Mini Tool Room & Training Centre (MTRTC)

Set up in partnership with the Government of Odisha. The tool room is HAL-empanelled and produces aero engine components for the MiG and Sukhoi divisions alongside training precision machinists.
  • Transformer testing in the NABL-accredited laboratory

    WEL Lab

A work-experience laboratory catalogue of production-grade equipment and job work available for training partnerships.
  • E-rickshaw assembly at Sky Rider Auto, a live production unit

    Sky Rider Auto

A live automotive service operation where technicians train on customer vehicles under supervision.
  • A live garment production line run by trainees

    Apparel production lines

Full sewing lines running export-standard orders, where operators reach production speed before they are placed.

Why production

A tolerance is a better teacher than a grade.

When a component has to fit, and someone downstream is waiting for it, accuracy stops being an abstraction. Trainees are assessed daily on accuracy, process and time taken — the same three things a supervisor will judge them on in a job.

Beyond employment

Some people would rather start something.

Trainees who want to run their own workshop instead of joining someone else's get incubation support to become nano, mini or micro entrepreneurs.
